We host frequent special events such as holiday dinners, special topic dinners (wine, chocolate, cheese, etc.), dinners “on the farm” with some of our preferred suppliers, cooking classes, and other events that we think you might find fun and interesting.  We will use this page to keep you informed about upcoming events.

Celebrate “April Fools” at the Ship of Fools,  Thursday April 1, 2010

 

The 24th Annual Penn Cove Mussel Festival was March 6 & 7, 2010 it came back to where it all started 24 years ago, The Captain Whidbey Inn.  The Inn’s Ship of Fools Restaurant celebrated this homecoming by participating in the Chowder Contest and by introducing lunch service to its mix.

New Years Day Brunch Friday January 1, 2010 We welcomed 2010 with good food, family and friends – while enjoying our cozy log walls and views of Penn Cove.  On New Years Day, Ship of Fools will introduced our first ever Brunch, featuring small plates of traditional favorites and few twists, for individual or shared consumption.  Reservations from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Open Face Shrimp and Crab Omelet $12,  Poached Egg and Parmesan Potato Nest $6, Perfect Harmony Organic New York Strip Steak with Fried Eggs $14,  House Made Bacon and Egg Pasta $12,   Scrambled Eggs and Bacon $8,   Brioche French Toast with Butter and Maple Syrup $9,   Orange Juice, Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate.

 

New Years Eve Ring in 2010 We offered our winter menu from 6:00 – 11:00 plus our Chef’s surprise dishes to ring in 2010!  New Years Eve Specials included, Crab Salad $5, Lobster Pasta $19, Guinea Hen with Chestnut Puree $26, Ship of Fools “Fool” Vanilla Custard layered with Brandied Cherries and Apricots $7.

 

Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday November 26, 2009  A Traditional family style holiday meal.

Pomegranate Salad with Arugula, Hazelnuts and Triple Cream Cheese,  Sage Roasted Organic Turkey Breast with slow braised Leg and Gravy.  Sweet Potatoe Puree, Chestnut and Prune Stuffing, Brussel Sprouts with Bacon and Thyme, Beet and Green Apple Salad, Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting and Valrhona Hot Chocolate.   Two seatings, 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm.  $55 per person (excluding beverages, 18% gratuity and taxes).
